How To Still Feel Good on Your Period

How To Still Feel Good on Your Period

Posted by Paris & I on

We can be so hard on ourselves at this time of the month & there’s just no time for that negativity in our lives! What we can do is show ourselves a little more self love! We know there is just nothing sexy about cramps, sore boobies, bloating, and whipping out your daggy period underwear that comes out once a month. But with these tips, we hope we can make your next cycle that little bit easier.

No food restrictions

I know we all get chocolate cravings or some salty cravings, and it's more than ok to let yourself give in! Never restrict yourself as life is way too short to be worrying about whether you should eat a piece or the whole block, but don't make your period an excuse to eat non nutritious foods for every meal. Foods like bananas, nuts, spinach, legumes, avocados & salmon can be your go-to for a healthy dose of magnesium and healthy fats! Magnesium rich foods also help in relaxing your muscles and give you a little energy boost!

Hot girl walks

Move your body! Even just 20-30 mins, when you exercise, your body releases endorphins. So grab your fave comfortable activewear set and go on a hot girl walk! Put on a girly podcast or whatever makes you feel good and just go! If you are needing some period / bloat friendly activewear that won't cut you in half, but will still keep you feeling supported, we have you covered. There’s nothing worse than feeling restricted and cut in half.

Warm baths

Nothing feels better after a long day than a warm bath or shower especially when you have horrible cramps. Add some epsom salts to your bath, some lavender oil in your diffuser, or even just light a candle and really take the time for yourself and relax. Your body will thank you for it.

Sleep & Rest

Sleep is so important and so underrated! Allow yourself to get a little more rest than normal. Aim for 8 hours a night. It will really help with your fatigue & your mood. Even taking a nap if you can will make you feel a million times better, 20-30 mins is perfect to help you feel refreshed & recharged.

Water! Stay hydrated

This is the easiest hack you can do! Staying hydrated will keep your cramps and bloating at bay! It can also help move your cycle along more quickly and helps prevent blood from thickening.

Invest in some comfortable lingerie

Just because you’re on your period doesn’t mean you can’t feel sexy! Nothing makes you feel more put together and cute than a little matching set! Just make sure you opt for something breathable hehe!

We hope these little tips help with your next cycle! Or if you have any other tips that we should try let us know! We are all in this together!

With love Paris & Sammi xx
